Lemon Ginger Turmeric Tea

If you are bored of taking your morning warm lemon water, you can start a new ritual, which has the detoxing and anti-inflammatory powers. It is called a winter wellness elixir and is packed with health-promoting antioxidants. By consuming it you can detoxify your liver and blood, and boost your digestion.

By boosting immunity with this recipe you can treat a cold, cough, sore throat, seasonal allergies, chronic pain, fatigue, and irritable bowel syndrome.

The best is if you use a fresh turmeric root, but sometimes this wonderful healing root isn’t often available in most markets and grocery stores.

Lemon Ginger Turmeric Tea

– 1 teaspoon grated fresh turmeric root (or ½ teaspoon turmeric powder)

– 2-3 twists of black pepper

– 1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger root (or ½ teaspoon ginger powder)

– Juice of ½ lemon

– 1 ½ cup filtered water

– 2 teaspoons raw honey

Directions and use:

1) Combine turmeric, ginger, and water in a saucepan

2) Heat them over medium-high heat

3) Simmer the mixture for 5 to 10 minutes, without boiling.

4) Strain it and pour into a mug.

5) Add honey and lemon juice and stir well.
