Turmeric has been a well-known ingredient in the alternative medicine, for centuries. It is powerful therapeutic and much more than just a culinary delight. Getting a curry dish into a beautiful yellow hue is only the beginning of using this ancient spice.

According to the researchers, this powerful therapeutic impact of turmeric is due to its containment of the curcumin. It is confirmed by thousands of published studies, which support the fact of the healing effects of the curcumin.

Here is the line-up of turmeric’s medicinal values:

– Ability to reduce inflammation,

– Heals wounds,

– Boosts cognitive ability,

– Alleviates pain,

– Slows the aging process,

– Protects the digestive tract,

– Improves the condition of the skin,

– Increases metabolism

– Alleviates menstruation symptoms.

Turmeric has even been noticed in slowing cancerous growths and eliminating depression.

Health Benefits of Raw Honey

Honey, similar to turmeric, has been treasured for its medicinal value since the ancient times. It is especially known for its anti-fungal and antibacterial properties. As a gift from the bees, raw honey is packed with health benefits.

Honey is rich in antioxidants known as phenolic compounds and can be compared with many antioxidants as vegetables and fruits.

It is very effective against free radicals that push along the aging process and may also lead to diseases such as cancer and heart disease. Due to the antioxidants in honey it protects from cellular damage caused by free radicals.

It is also well to know that it is hard to get enough of these medicinal benefits of turmeric just from a curry or soup. To get the maximum benefits of a turmeric supplement, you need to take at least 1-2 tablespoons daily, even everyone knows that choking down a tablespoon of turmeric powder isn’t very pleasant. To avoid that unpleasant taste the powder can be mixed with honey, which makes the spice much more palatable and easy to store in a “pill” form. The mixture of the turmeric with local, raw honey will also help with seasonal allergies.

Ingredients:

– ⅓ cup ground turmeric

– 3 tbsp. raw honey

– Cookie sheet and parchment paper or a baking mat.

For those who are not fans of honey, they can use softened coconut oil instead. You should make sure to freeze on a cookie sheet to harden before use. Stocked can be used on a daily basis, in order to protect your immune system during cold and flu season.

Turmeric & Black Pepper

Black pepper helps the body to absorb all of the amazing benefits of turmeric, due to its containment of piperine. This mixture has the ability to slow the metabolic breakdown of the turmeric in the gut and liver. Taking it will allow turmeric compounds to stay longer in the body, which means more benefits.
